Cake Poker started out quite late in 2006, they've however had alot of ambition in building their own poker network called Cake Network and their own software. In the network they have other sites such as PlayersOnly Poker that contributes to the player count. Cake Poker does accept US players and this is one of the big reasons why they've been very successful.
The player count on Cake Poker is medium at best. They have most of their players playing low to medium limit Texas Hold'em but you will still with some luck find a game at 7 Card Stud or Omaha. However any kinds of mixed games such as HORSE will not be possible.
Cake Poker has some nice guaranteed tournaments from time to time but it can't be compared to any of the bigger sites such as Ultimate Bet or Absolute Poker. If you're a big tournament geek who hunts for value then cake poker probably isn't the site for you.
Cake Poker does offer a slightly higher 33% rakeback. This is a big selling point since the extra 3% will convert to a huge amount of money in the long run if you play alot of poker. Since CakePoker is a medium big site and has an ok amount of players, we highly recommend it to all of our users.
